This week was largely dominated by articles about the new refinements to ethics rules concerning AI happening nationwide and a few articles about how AI might affect pricing, but there don't seem to be any overall trends or conclusions on that front. And, as usual, there are new tools available geared for lawyers that seem, to me, overpriced and unnecessary. In many cases, it's easier, more effective, and cheaper just to use the tools you already have with, perhaps, a few tweaks.

Their answer is: "it depends." If "legal outputs" are seen a luxury goods, then no. But if they are seen as "utility" goods, then yes. High-end law firms will probably not be expected to charge less, but the lower end ones will.

Their approach is to make sure accurate information about your contracts is extracted as metadata after the final contract is executed. The agent only looks at the final contract and updates metadata from there. That makes sure that your system isn't pulling information from older, out-of-date versions of contracts. This strikes me as a fairly simple agent you can build yourself.
